Theme-based tours for school classes during the afternoon. All tours are available in English.

How an Orchestra Works

For students in preschool through year 4.

Learn more about the big symphony orchestra. Excerpts are read from the book “Så Funkar en Orkester” (“How an Orchestra Works”) and students get to explore the stage of Konserthuset’s Main Hall, learn more about an orchestral instrument and try playing it. We also sing together and you get to try conducting one another.

Konserthuset Stockholm’s art and architecture

For students in year 7 and up 

Home to the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since its inauguration in 1926, Konserthuset Stockholm is one of the capital’s most famous structures in the neo-classical style. The leading artists of the era were commissioned to conceive the new concert hall in a timeless style, harnessing motifs from two different worlds: classical Greece and the history of music. Enjoy the art and architecture of the venue at close quarters with your own guide.

Nobel tour

For students in year 7 and up

Each year on 10 December, the eyes of the world fall on our Main Hall during the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony. Why is the Nobel Prize awarded, and what happens during the ceremony? Look around the hall in which Royal personages, Laureates and members of the academy gather each year to attend the world famous award ceremony. The tour is also available in English.
