Paris in the Rain with the Sarah McKenzie Quartet
In just a short time, the jazz world has opened its eyes and ears to the Australian pianist and singer Sarah McKenzie. It has barely been three years since she participated in the Umbria Jazz Festival and was subsequently awarded a grant to study at Berklee College of Music in the US. 18 months later, she finished her degree and was offered a recording contract in the US on the spot.
Her debut album on the American label Impulse was released autumn 2015: the now award-winning We Could Be Lovers. Before then, she had released two critically acclaimed albums in Australia: Don't Tempt Me (2010) and Close Your Eyes (2012). Her latest album, Paris in the Rain, was released in January 2017.
Sarah McKenzie is from Melbourne, Australia and studied at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in Perth. She now lives in Paris. The Sarah McKenzie Quartet comprises French guitarist Hugo Lippi, French bassist Pierre Boussaguet and American drummer Gregory Hutchinson.
