Cécile McLorin Salvant
The young American vocalist has taken the jazz world by storm.
This rising star won the Grammy in 2016 for Best Jazz Vocal Album and will guest-perform with pianist Aaron Diehl, bassist Paul Sikivie and drummer Lawrence Leathers.
As a child, Cécile McLorin Salvant studied classical piano and subsequently began singing. Just ten years ago, she moved to France to study classical voice with a focus on Baroque at the Darius Milhaud Conservatory in Aix-en-Provence. It was in fact in France that she became immersed in jazz, and in 2009 she released her debut album Cécile with the Jean-François Bonnel Paris Quintet.
She won a Grammy for her third album, For One To Love. Her second album, 2014’s WomanChild, was nominated for a Grammy.
