Lied Concert with Camilla Tilling

The season’s second Lied concert, with Camilla Tilling. Please note the change of program.

Welcome to a lied concert with international Swedish star Camilla Tilling. The bass-baritone Anton Ljungqvist has been forced to cancel his participation in this concert, hence a change of program where Tilling has added songs by Richard Strauss.

In recent seasons, she has performed Pamina in Mozart’s Magic Flute at Teatro Real Madrid together with Sir Simon Rattle, and she appeared at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow as Sophie in Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier. She has taken on Haydn’s The Creation with Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 with Bernard Haitink and the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

She will perform songs by Richard Strauss, Peterson-Berger and a selection of songs from Robert Schumann’s Myrthen, dedicated to “his beloved”, Clara Schumann.

Also participating is pianist Magnus Svensson, who specialises in the art of romance. Magnus Svensson has appeared on most major concert stages in Sweden, in addition to international tours in the US and most European countries. Magnus Svensson will also perform a couple of solo piano pieces by Robert Schumann and Wilhem Peterson-Berger.
