Pianorama – Piano Marathon

Pianorama – a three-day festival with the piano in focus. Today: New discoveries and classics with fourteen pianists.

Welcome to a festival featuring piano in the lead role in all concerts. For three days, we will get to hear this instrument solo and together with others. Many of Sweden’s leading pianists will appear, including established musicians and emerging stars, as well as some of Sweden’s most prominent string musicians. Concert pianist Roland Pöntinen is artistic director of Pianorama.

On this day, we will meet fourteen pianists, established musicians and young rising stars alike. Each will play for half an hour, and the audience is welcome to come and go throughout the approximately eight-hour concert. The pianists have chosen their repertoires themselves, resulting in a programme that reflects each musician’s individual personality. Collectively, Pianorama’s Pianomara is an incredibly varied manifestation featuring everything from undeservedly disregarded pieces to famous piano classics.
