Stenhammar Quartet

One of Scandinavia’s leading string quartets.

The Stenhammar Quartet takes on one of the the genre’s masterpieces: Claude Debussy’s String Quartet in G Minor. It is traditionally arranged with four movements, but in this well-known form, Debussy has shaped musical gold with lyrically caressing melodies, rhythmic challenges and surprising harmonies.

We will also hear the highly lauded Austrian composer Olga Neuwirth’s expressive and aurally dramatic Settori, as well as Dmitry Kabalevsky’s String Quartet No. 2, which is largely based on Russian folk music tradition, with powerful emotions and melodic clarity.

One of Scandinavia’s leading string quartets.
