Monday at last – Day 2

The Monday At Last concert series celebrates 10 years with a jam-packed chamber music festival: Monday All Week!

Monday All Week is exactly what it sounds like: Monday At Last concerts every day, with tons of guests. In this concert words are in focus.

Olivia Bergdahl became something of a Swedish performance poetry prodigy early on, when she won the Swedish Poetry Slam Championship at age 17 in 2007 and debuted with the poetry collection Demo that same year. Since then, she has written the critically acclaimed novel Efter Ekot (After the Echo), released the album Eldorado, and founded the poetry and string quartet group Olivia’s Poetry Orchestra, which we will see here.

Katarina Frostenson is a member of the Swedish Academy, chair number 18; she is the recipient of a wide variety of awards and is of major literary significance both within and beyond Sweden. Katarina Frostenson received the Nordic Council Literature Prize in 2016 for her poetry collection Sånger och formler (Songs and Formulae). In this concert she will read her poetry.

We will also hear music by the British composer Rebecca Clarke, and pianist Bengt Forsberg presents music by the Russian romantic Nikolai Medtner.
