Katarina Karnéus quickly became a name to be reckoned with in the vocalist world after winning the prestigious Cardiff Singer of the World competition in 1995. Karnéus has presented a number of esteemed role interpretations in the opera world, including at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, Covent Garden in London, Théàtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, Deutsche Oper Berlin and Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. She has also previously participated in the Lied Concert subscription, in December 2014.
This time, Karnéus will join up with another Swede: international star tenor Michael Weinius. He participated in a previous Lied Concert as well, in February 2014, and has also performed at Konserthuset on many occasions. Weinius, a Wagner specialist, has appeared on stages including Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opéra Bastille in Paris, and the Vienna State Opera.
Pianist Magnus Svensson is a versatile musician who specialises in the art of lied. Magnus Svensson has appeared on most major concert stages in Sweden, in addition to regular concerts in the US and several European countries.
