Grop Mikael Sjögren
Co–Principal and member of the orchestra since 2003.
Grop Mikael Sjögren is alternate section leader of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra’s viola section. He is also a national folk musician, arranger and composer of folk and classical music. Grop Mikael Sjögren is originally from Dalarna and is also a member of Malungs Spelmanslag (Malung Folk Musician Group), TrioDe3 and the folk music group Krackel Kapell.
Before Grop Mikael Sjögren joined the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, he played in numerous orchestras including the Gävleborg Symphony Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Stockholm Session Strings.
He is also a highly dedicated chamber musician and often participates in Konserthuset’s various chamber music concerts, such as Philharmonic Up-Close and Soup Concerts.
