Helena Hägglund

Member of the orchestra since 1998.

Helena Hägglund has been a member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 1989. Prior to that, she played with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra from 1987–1989.

Helena studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Harald Thedéen and obtained her soloist diploma in 1986. She is also active as a chamber musician and regularly participates in Konserthuset’s Soup Concerts and Philharmonic Up-Close subscriptions. In addition to the traditional classical and romantic repertoire, she is deeply interested in music from the twentieth century.

Helena Hägglund has performed as a soloist with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra on many occasions, including in Stenhammar’s Romances for Violin and Orchestra, as well as in violin concertos by Béla Bartók and Hilding Rosenberg – in both cases, their rarely performed first violin concertos.
