Sten-Johan Sunding

Member of the orchestra since 1987.

Sten-Johan Sunding has been a member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 1987; he plays in the first violin section. He also plays with the Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble. Sten-Johan Sunding studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Sven Karpe and Josef Grünfarb. For shorter periods, he also studied in London and Canada. 

Sunding is deeply interested in chamber music and has played with the Uppsala Chamber Soloists, among others, and was one of the founders of the New Stenhammar Quartet. (He is no longer a member of the quartet.)

In addition to his own playing, Sten-Johan Sunding has taught violin for many years at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
