Gustav Lundgren Trio with guests

The Gustav Lundgren Trio are considered Sweden’s leading interpreters of Django Reinhardt’s equally ground-breaking and irresistible music. Here, we meet the brilliantly swinging trio in a concert from Grünewald Hall.

With his romantic and melancholy melodies, the characteristic vibrato and rapidly improvised riffs, Django Reinhardt’s music has a unique ability to be moving. Reinhardt grew up among the Roma in the outskirts of Paris, where he played guitar and violin, but a fire at the age of 18 left the ring and pinkie fingers of his left hand disabled. However, utterly determined to continue playing, he modified his guitar playing and developed a brilliant and simultaneously emotionally charged genre.

At this concert, we meet the masterful, swinging Gustav Lundgren Trio from a concert in Grünewald Hall. Guest performances are given by Django guitarist Edouard Pennes and the brilliant violinist Aurélien Trigo.
