Jacob Karlzon 3

Pianist Jacob Karlzon has been an internationally recognized name in jazz for years. See him in concert with his acclaimed trio, which includes Hans Andersson on bass and Robert Mehmet Ikiz on drums.

Jacob Karlzon is one of Europe’s leading pianists. His music has a radiance and vitality that has given him and his two bandmates, Hans Andersson, bass, and Robert Mehmet Ikiz, drums, an enormous and dedicated audience. Jacob has also appeared with some of jazz’s leading stars, such as Billy Cobham, Kenny Wheeler, Tim Hagans, Jeff Ballard, Rigmor Gustafsson, Lina Nyberg and many more.

Since 1999, Jacob Karlzon has been the conductor and composer of Viktoria Tolstoy’s band, with which he has made several records. Jacob is also the pianist in Swedish trumpet player Peter Asplund’s quartet. But his most important forum has always been his own trio: three dizzyingly brilliant musicians who have an exciting new take on the jazz tradition, coloured by openness and energy, a dash of pop attitude and classically beautiful sounds.
