Polar Music Prize

The Polar Music Prize has been presented annually at Konserthuset since 2004. The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra participates in the ceremony together with other artists.

The Polar Music Prize was established in 1989 by Stig “Stikkan” Anderson, a legend of Swedish pop music history. The Polar Music Prize is awarded to two recipients in order to celebrate music and break down musical barriers by bringing people together from different parts of the music world.

The prize – SEK 1 million for each recipient – is presented by His Majesty the King at the awards ceremony in Konserthuset Stockholm.
