Piano Recital – Lise de la Salle

The French pianist has her Konserthuset debut.

French pianist Lise de la Salle has made a huge impact on international concert stages and is considered by many to be one of today’s most thrilling young soloists (she was born in 1988 in Cherbourg). The Washington Post’s critics put it aptly: “de la Salle played so well that, for much of the concert, the audience had to remember to breathe. [...] The exhilaration didn’t let up for a second until her hands came off the keyboard.”

She is also renowned for her broad repertoire and surprising programme. Much of her concert in Stockholm will feature Johann Sebastian Bach. We will hear Franz Liszt’s majestic Fantasy and Fugue on the Theme B-A-C-H, Wilhelm Kempff’s arrangement of the famous Jesu bleibet meine Freude, and the grandiose Chaconne in D Minor, in an arrangement by Busoni.

The program also includes a newly written piece by the French jazz musician Thomas Encho (barn 1988), it's a piece in three parts that Lise de la Salle interleaves other pieces of music.
