KVAST – Performance VI
Resonant Alpine landscapes in the Grünewald Hall lobby.
Composers and musicians Carin Blom and Catharina Backman formed the duo Gretli & Heidi as part of the travelling variety show Varieté Vauduvill nearly 30 years ago. In their visually distinctive performances, Gretli & Heidi travel through an Alpine landscape of ringing crystal, cowbells, yodelling and the traditional clap dance, by way of klezmer music and the landler dance. The sounds of water-filled bowls, plates and bottles meet voices and singing, accordion, piccolo and bells.
