Monday at Last!
String trio ZPR with bassoon player Diego Chenna.
String trio ZPR was founded by Cecilia Zilliacus on violin, Johanna Persson on viola and Kati Raitinen on cello. The trio continuously works to explore the string trio repertoire and collaborates often and gladly with composers who are active today. Monday At Last is the concert subscription in which ZPR, now for the eleventh year in a row, invites guest artists to present newer and older music with them, often in close contact with the audience.
Here, we will hear the prominent bassoon player Diego Chenna. He regularly appears with esteemed orchestras and ensembles such as Kremerata Baltica with Gidon Kremer, Chamber Orchestra of Europe under the baton of Valery Gergiev and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester. He is also a professor of bassoon at the Freiburg University of Music. We will get to hear him in Paganini’s glittering and playful duet for violin and bassoon, Hildegard von Bingen’s moody Caritas habundat, and also music by Mozart, Willy Merz, Caccini and more.
