Resounding Academy – the Swedish Lied
An instructive journey with a focus on song.
The Royal Swedish Academy of Music Presents an evening focused on the history of Swedish lied, which can simultaneously serve as an introduction to the Lied Concert on the following evening – with soprano Malin Byström and pianist Magnus Svensson.
From Joseph Martin Kraus to Josef Eriksson and Hugo Alfvén. An abundance of information about the art of the Swedish lied is now available in a new book by Lennart Hedwall. For just over an hour, we will follow along on a journey focused on song – when words and music meet in their purest form.
Acclaimed pianist and artistic director of Konserthuset’s own Lied Concert Subscription Magnus Svensson together with singers will present numerous musical examples from history.
