New Friday is a subscription for forward-looking listeners who want to open their ears to the innovative music of today. The versatile Danish composer and artist Simon Steen-Andersen was born in 1976 and is based in Berlin.

Simon Steen-Andersen works with everything from symphonic pieces to solo pieces, often presented in combination with installations or multimedia intended to show the physical aspects of the music. Steen-Andersen has received the Mauricio Kagel Music Prize, Ernst von Siemens Music Prize and the Nordic Council’s Music Prize.

Norrbotten NEO was formed in 2007 and has a national task to work for the promotion of contemporary chamber music. The ensemble consists of seven musicians who play flute, clarinet, percussion, piano, violin, viola and cello, but can be complemented with other instrumentalists as needed by the music to be performed. In 2013, Norrbotten NEO was the Ensemble-in-Residence at Konserthuset Stockholm, and since their formation, they have performed the world premieres of over 100 pieces.
