Pianorama – Parade française
A cavalcade of well-known and lesser known French composers.
Pianorama is a festival featuring piano in the lead role in all concerts. This year, we explore Paris, France during the three-day festival.
The founder and artistic director of Pianorama is Roland Pöntinen, who also participates with several of Sweden’s leading pianists, including established performers as well as rising stars. In addition, we hear the Royal Wind Quintet Stockholm, with musicians from the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Royal Swedish Orchestra, as well as some of Sweden’s most prominent string musicians.
Famous French composers such as Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy are reflected here in music by less familiar, but highly exciting composers. This includes Mélanie “Mel” Bonis (1858–1937), who composed numerous piano pieces and other chamber music, as well as Canadian Clermont Pépin (1926–2006). Pianists Terés Löf and Matilda Lindholm also present music by Lili and Nadia Boulanger, and music by Arthur Honegger.
