Pianorama – To Paris!
Finale with Roland Pöntinen, Love Derwinger and the Royal Wind Quintet.
Pianorama is a festival featuring piano in the lead role in all concerts. This year, we explore Paris, France during the three-day festival.
The founder and artistic director of Pianorama is Roland Pöntinen, who also participates with several of Sweden’s leading pianists, including established performers as well as rising stars. In addition, we hear the Royal Wind Quintet Stockholm, with musicians from the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Royal Swedish Orchestra.
Piano virtuosos Roland Pöntinen and Love Derwinger have performed together on various occasions for over 40 years and know one another well. Together with the Royal Wind Quintet Stockholm, they bring the audience to Paris, where new and pioneering forms of music, dance and art were part of the joie de vivre characterising the first half of the twentieth century. Those with the greatest influence included Darius Milhaud and Francis Poulenc, and of course Stravinsky, who changed music history with his three major ballets – each of which had its world premiere in Paris.
