Three concerts presenting world-class jazz. Limiting the American vocal artist McFerrin to one hit in the late 1980s would be a huge mistake – here, we meet this magnificent vocalist. In addition, jazz-scented soundtracks with our own Blue House Jazz Orchestra and a tribute to Nat “King” Cole.

Music reinforces emotions and atmospheres and has the ability to push action forward, or to reveal the things hidden beneath the surface that we cannot see. Great filmmakers have also always worked with great composers.
In the company of the Blue House Jazz Orchestra, led by trumpet player and singer Peter Asplund and saxophonist and flute player Magnus Lindgren, we will take a journey into the world of cinematic soundtracks.
We will travel sonically to the US for a visit to Hollywood. We will also explore Europe’s expansive cinematic landscape, with many of the world’s best known soundtrack composers. The music encompasses everything from epic soundtracks to well-known songs, all with the big band’s thoroughly masterful jazz framework.

We now have the delight to experience his music by and with the artists and musicians who know it best.
American pianist Ben Paterson may still be relatively unknown in Sweden, but he has studied Nat King Cole and his trove of songs extensively, as has Chicago-based singer Paul Marinaro. Ellen Andersson has garnered enormous acclaim in recent years and has been compared with the likes of Billie Holiday and Diana Krall. International bassist Hans Backenroth and Danish percussionist Kristian Leth will also be participating in this tribute concert.

He is a musician and singer, or rather a vocal artist, who also conducts and has collaborated with the New York and Vienna Philharmonic orchestras, and who has also performed with jazz giants like Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea.
Bobby McFerrin has won ten Grammys, but above all he is beloved by audiences. If you want the opportunity to experience a live artist who is unique in the truest sense of the word, then don’t miss Bobby McFerrin. Four musicians will join him on stage for this performance at Konserthuset Stockholm, for a total of five musicians. He calls this concert Gimme5.
