Patrik Swedrup
Soup Concert
Three distinguished musicians from the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra come together as a piano trio in this concert.
One of the great composers for piano trio was Franz Schubert. Here, musicians from the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra perform the dreamily beautiful and radiantly loving Notturno.
More seldom do we get to hear the music of Laura Netzel, who was born in Finland but grew up in Stockholm. She studied under Widor in Paris and her romantic music earned great acclaim in nineteenth-century France.
Finally, the sweet second movement (andantino) taken from Gabriel Fauré's Piano Trio in D minor – one of the composer's last works, composed when he was completely deaf in 1922-23.
Menu: Thyme-seasoned artichoke soup, topped with herb crème fraîche.
