Kristofer Öberg
Co-Principal and member of the orchestra since 1997.
Horn player Kristofer Öberg was employed in the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra in 1997 and is alternate section leader. Before joining the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, he was horn soloist with Norrlandsoperan.
Kristofer Öberg studied at Framnäs Folk High School and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He has received the Royal Swedish Academy of Music’s international scholarship twice.
On many occasions, Kristofer Öberg has appeared as a soloist, including in Richard Strauss’ Horn Concerto No. 1 and Lars-Erik Larsson’s Horn Concertino. With the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, he has performed the solo in Schumann’s Concertpiece for Four Horns and Orchestra. Öberg is also a member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Wind Quintet.
