Tolstoy & Karlzon

Charismatic, brilliant, intimate and dramatic. This is how the partnership between singer Viktoria Tolstoy and pianist Jacob Karlzon has been described. Here, they return to the shared influences of their teenage years, offering personal interpretations of Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins and Pat Metheny.

The collaboration between Viktoria Tolstoy and pianist Jacob Karlzon stretches far back in time. This makes it a particularly successful concert concept for these two to return to their shared musical roots. In this intimate format featuring just the two of them on stage, their telepathic contact is in full bloom.

The display of musicianship is sumptuous as they perform songs such as Phil Collins’ Against all Odds, Michael McDonald’s Can’t Let Go, Peter Gabriel’s Red Rain and many other excellent hits from the top charts of pop with precision and without airs.

Jazzier examples include Shadow and Light, which was authored, among others, by the legendary Joe Zawinul. They also present Venus and Mars, written by Esbjörn Svensson with Micke Littwold and Viktoria Tolstoy herself.

  • Participants
