Audition repertoire
- Dittersdorf Double bass concerto No.2, Kreps 172 D-major, 1st and 2nd movement without cadenzas

The audition takes place in Konserthuset Stockholm 22-23 October 2025 by personal invitation. Applications close 18 August. If we receive more applicants than we have time to listen to during the mentioned time-slot, then applicants will be selected based on pre-recorded repertoire (see below).
Please apply on Muvac (opens in a new window)
The pre-recordings should be recorded in one take, without any cuts or edits with the applicant remaining in frame for the duration of the recording. We recommend that the recording is done with an external microphone for sound quality purposes. Any bowings or fingerings in the parts are completely optional.
Pre-selection repertoire
- Beethoven Symphony No.5, mvt. III, bars 128-218
- Verdi Otello, Act IV, letters U-Y
- Britten Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, Variation H, all but the last four bars.
Applicants will learn around 20 August, whether a screening based on the pre-selection repertoire above will be necessary or not. Deadline for the pre-recordings will be 3 September in that case, but applicants are of course free to supply the pre-recorded repertoire already with their original application. The pre-selection repertoire will only be reviewed if necessary regardless.
***
N.B.! Both the pre-recordings and physical audition should be played on an orchestra tuned double bass.
