Kids from El Sistema Södertälje ask questions – and get answers from conductor Emilia Hoving.
Trills and Dragon Ears is a playful presentation of all of the instruments of the orchestra. The lyrics are written by Lennart Hellsing and the music illustrating the instruments is composed by Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy, Alfvén and more.
In conjunction with a recording of the performance at Konserthuset Stockholm, kids from Hovsjö in Södertälje were invited for a conversation via Zoom. They were very curious and Emilia Hoving answered questions about the role of the conductor: How does conducting work? How do you become a conductor? Is it difficult to keep an orchestra together? Are conductors rich?
