Elena Mateo Sáez

Spanish bassoonist Elena Mateo Sáez earned her bachelor’s degree at the Colburn Conservatory of Music under Richard Beene, and is currently completing her master’s degree at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in Switzerland under Matthias Rácz. She has won several international competitions, including the American Fernand Gillet-Hugo Fox International Competition.

Elena Mateo Sáez has been the soloist with several American and Spanish orchestras, and has played as a substitute under the baton of prominent conductors such as Esa-Pekka Salonen, Gustavo Dudamel and Michael Tilson Thomas. She has performed as a guest with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Mainly Mozart All-Star Orchestra.
