Lavinia Scarpelli

Italian cellist Lavinia Scarpelli is a dedicated chamber musician and began playing with a string quartet at just ten years old, at the music school in her hometown of Fiesole, just north of Florence. She now specialises in repertoires for duet and trio and earned her master’s degree in chamber music performance from Edsberg Music Institute under Mats Zetterqvist.

Lavinia Scarpelli also studied in London at the Royal Academy of Music under Josephine Knight, and at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm under Jakob Koranyi. She has won first place in several competitions in Italy, including the Crescendo International Competition.
