Maja’s Alphabet Songs

We are happy to present this much appreciated classic school and family concert on Konserthuset Play. Experience an abundance of musical joy, and play with letters, words and music together with students from Adolf Fredrik’s Music School. The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra is led here by Emil Eliasson.

Kerstin Andeby’s beautiful and funny songs for children’s book illustrator Lena Anderson’s clever verses from Maja’s Alphabet are sung by children at home and at school. These genuine classics are accompanied here by other classics: music composed by Mozart, Grieg, Alfvén, Bizet and Prokofiev.

At this concert, grade 4 students from Adolf Fredrik’s Music School in Norrmalm and Farsta participate – and they offer plenty of joyful singing! Together with the orchestra, they also play with letters, words and music. Say H as in harp, and the harp shimmers in a rolling chord; T as in tuba, and way down in the bass register we hear the tuba play “Gubben Noak”. We will also experience the power of an entire symphony orchestra with In the Hall of the Mountain King, Midsummer Vigil, music from Carmen and Bokstavsvisan (“The Letter Song”) to Mozart’s wonderful music.
