Stockholm Voices

Virtuoso vocals with strong jazz roots – and some excursions to classic Beatles tunes.

Vocal jazz quartet Stockholm Voices has together with its band caught the  Swedish jazz audience since the very first tour in 2014. With its sould-out concerts, radio broadcasts and great reviews, they are sought-after among Swedish jazz clubs and festivals. Stockholm Voices consists of Gunilla Törnfeldt soprano, Maria Winther alto, Alexander Lövmark tenor and Jakob Sollevi baritone.

The quartet is caracterized by fine-tuned and precise vocals with four virtuoso voices that blend together into a unique sound. The music is based on a strong vocal tradition of the jazz genre. The latest addition to the repertoire is music by Lennon/McCartney.

In their concerts, Stockholm Voices also often present music from the debut album Come Rain or Come Shine, along with classics of The American Songbook. The arrangements are written by Mikael Skoglund, Gunilla Törnfeldt, Calle Rasmusson and Carl Bagge.

Through the European Renaissance with Ecstatic Ensemble. Beautiful and artful singing with up to six a cappella voices, accompanied by lute and viola da gamba – and by Isaac Grünewald’s lovely paintings in the hall where the concert was filmed.

With the Avicii song For a Better Day, the Avicii Arena is launched along with a unique project aimed at at the work on mental health conditions. The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic has recorded the music together with 14 year-old Ella Tiritiello.

Monteverdi Vespro della Beata Vergine

Claudio Monteverdi's Vespro della Beata Vergine, composed in 1610, is mighty, melodic, colourful and sometimes painfully beautiful. The Eric Ericson Chamber Choir is led by its chief conductor Fredrik Malmberg.

Nina Stemme, superstar on the world's opera stages, in Wagner's Wesendonck-Lieder. On the programme also Debussy's Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune and Schubert's ”Unfinished” (Symphony no. 8). The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra is led by Alan Gilbert.
