KVAST – Electronic

Three leading sound artists with improvisation and pre-recordings.

Swedish Hanna Hartman is an award-winning sound artist, composer and musician who lives in Berlin. She has composed work for radio, electroacoustic music, sound installations and performances. She also writes music for instrumentalists. Hartman works with recorded sounds that are collected world-wide; she then takes them from their original context and places them in new, headstrong sound constellations. We will hear prerecorded work.

Incomparably versatile and imaginative, Norwegian Maja Ratkje is a phenomenon. She composes musical scores and is also a performance and vocal artist, with a rich use of electronics. Her music has been performed by all of the top international contemporary music ensembles, including Ensemble InterContemporain and Klangforum Wien. She has also worked with theatre and film, as well as in her own ensembles POING and SPUNK. She has released around 20 full-length albums. Her large and varied body of work includes orchestral and chamber music, pieces for the stage, multimedia art, sound installations and children’s music. On this occasion, Maja Ratkje presents an improvisation.

Swedish Lise-Lotte Norelius works with experimental electronic music in which sampled everyday sounds often form the building blocks. She is also one of the founders of the group Syntjuntan. Norelius also used to be a percussionist in improvised music, jazz and funk, and is a former member of bands such as Donna Lee and Anitas Livs. As a solo artist, she has released many albums with her own work. We will hear prerecorded work.
