Songwriters’ Guide – Harry Warren

Loving portrait of a magical hit-maker. That’s amore!

Songwriters’ Guide is a concert subscription that pays tribute to the top songwriters of history. These major names added musical colour to Broadway and Hollywood, and created the classics of the Great American Songbook. They are all presented by trumpet player, singer and composer Peter Asplund and his trio Aspiration, with Hans Andersson on bass and Johan Löfcrantz Ramsey on drums.

It is now time for the magical hit-maker Harry Warren. He was behind immortal songs like I Only Have Eyes for You, Chattanooga Choo, The More I See You and That's Amore, which was Dean Martin’s signature tune. Warren was nominated for eleven Oscars and won three with the songs Lullaby of Broadway, You'll Never Know and On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe.

Two guests participate in each portrait concert, and here we will meet singer Vivian Buczek, acclaimed for her unparalleled voice. She has released five albums and has garnered praise for her sensitive interpretations of Ella Fitzgerald. Also on stage is pianist Martin Sjöstedt, who in addition to collaborating with Vivian Buczek has also performed with international names such as Joe Lovano, Peter Erskine, Jimmy Cobb, Tim Hagans, Maria Schneider, Randy Brecker and many more.
