Stockholm Swing All Stars

A swinging, playful jazz fest with fantastic improvisations

Join us for an incredible jazz concert with the Stockholm Swing All Stars, and their unique ability to draw the very best from jazz. Since the beginning two decades ago, the band has had one foot planted firmly in jazz, while the other has taken a journey of discovery through touching music that makes you want to move.

We hear fantastic, timeless music by giants of jazz like Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Dizzy Gillespie, with a creative twist from the band’s members – whose own compositions are inspired by the spirit of the greats. Some arrangements are beautiful, others intricate; some are bluesy and captivating, but all are filled with soul. Thanks to their spectacular musicians and arrangements, the Stockholm Swing All Stars sound has its own characteristic 40s style, while still remaining unique.

The band formed in 2002 and this year marks their 20-year anniversary. They are celebrating by dusting off some of the best songs from their beginning, but above all with new songs from their record “Listen!!!” which is being released in conjunction with this concert.

At the top is shooting star Karl Olandersson, with his confident trumpet, and down below is Göran Lind’s solid bass. In between are Sweden’s leading swing drummer Mattias Puttonen and the endlessly innovative and popular Daniel Tilling on piano, in addition to Fredrik Lindborg’s magnificent tenor sax and Klas Lindquist’s elegant alto sax and clarinet. And of course, Dicken Hedrenius’ innovative trombone is a delight to hear.
