Cécile McLorin Salvant

An intimate performance in beautiful Grünewald Hall by Cécile McLorin Salvant and pianist Sullivan Fortner.

Cécile McLorin Salvant performs two concerts at Konserthuset Stockholm: 10 and 11 March. Her new album, Ghost Song, comes out the week before these concerts. “It’s unlike anything I’ve done before,” she explains.

Cécile McLorin Salvant’s career developed rapidly since her decision to focus on jazz – she studied classical voice with a focus on Baroque music – and she was rewarded almost immediately with a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album in 2016. Her previous album, Ogresse (2019), was a musical fable blending folk music, Baroque music, jazz and country.

Her musical versatility is striking, and she is also active as a visual artist. She debuted at Konserthuset in 2017 with the Aaron Diehl Trio and returned in 2018 with a big band, the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra.

This time, she performs with pianist Sullivan Fortner in Grünewald Hall – Konserthuset’s beautiful chamber music concert hall – and the spotlight shines on this singer with an awe-inspiring voice.
