Blue House Youth Jazz Festival - Sant Andreu Jazz Band

Sant Andreu Jazz Band is a big band from Spain made up of young musicians aged 7–20 years. It is all about a wonderfully swinging big band in the most  classical jazz tradition. The band is led by the driving spirit Joan Chamorro, active as a musician  (double bass and baritone saxophone) and teacher at the music school of Sant Andreu – the district in Barcelona where the band was founded in 2006.

Already in 2010 the band had a major break through in connection with several festival performances in Spain, and the big band has since then been noted internationally as well, with gigs and tours around the world and a number of CDs. The Sant Andreu Jazz Band first performed at Blue House Youth Jazz Festival in 2017, and returned the year after. 

Many of today’s firmly established jazz stars have started their careers in this phenomenal big band. Sant Andreu Jazz Band presents youthful big band jazz music that is beyond the ordinary.
