On 7 April 1926, Konserthuset Stockholm was inaugurated. One hundred years later, we invite you to music, stories and discoveries – a birthday celebration to which everyone is warmly welcome.
From 7 to 11 April, the building will be filled with live music, an exhibition, guided tours, a book presentation and dancing. Step inside and join us.
Here you can enjoy a preview of the summer’s major exhibition, with highlights from Konserthuset’s 100-year history. Guides will share insights into the art and design found throughout the building. And on one evening, Grünewald Hall will be transformed into a 1920s club with live music and dancing – a tribute to the era when it all began.
The celebrations culminate in The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra’s concerts in the Main Hall on Thursday 9 April and Saturday 11 April. Just as at the inauguration of Konserthuset in April 1926, Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony will be performed. The programme also features a world première: a cello concerto composed by the season’s Composer-in-Residence, Tebogo Monnakgotla.
