American pianist Emmet Cohen has been called a prodigy and is one of the top young jazz musicians. He now makes his debut at Konserthuset Stockholm with his trio. Downbeat magazine has praised his nimble touch and warm harmonic vocabulary. Others say he is the greatest jazz piano talent in decades.
For Emmet Cohen, music is about communication, and making it personal – but with an understanding of the predecessors of jazz and its changing traditions. He has released six solo albums, the latest of which came out in 2022: Uptown in Orbit. He is bandleader on around ten albums, and has worked on the Masters Legacy Series 1–4 with legends including George Coleman, Benny Golson and Ron Carter.
Rounding out the trio is Philip Norris on bass, and Kyle Poole on drums.
