In the Jazz Ring with Magnus and Emma

Magnus Lindgren meets English saxophonist Emma Rawicz.

The Grünewald Hall has a rarely used stage platform that can be raised from the centre of the room. Here, Magnus Lindgren creates musical encounters with the audience seated all around – a jazz ring, of sorts.

On this occasion we meet Magnus Lindgren together with the young yet highly acclaimed English saxophonist, bandleader and composer Emma Rawicz. She tours internationally and is involved in a wide range of collaborations. Her latest album, Chroma (2023), received great critical praise.

Magnus Lindgren’s artistry is defined by openness and curiosity. Over the years, the jazz musician Lindgren has explored everything from Brazilian samba to Swedish folk music. For 20 years, he also co-led Konserthuset’s own big band, the Blue House Jazz Orchestra, together with trumpeter Peter Asplund. He has released seven albums and in recent years collaborated with artists such as John Beasley and Germany’s SWR Big Band.
