A part of New Friday – a concert series focusing on contemporary music.
Konstmusiksystrar (“Art Music Sisters”) is a norm-critical network for active young composers and sound artists in art music who identify as women or transgender. Konstmusiksystrar works to create a platform for girls and transgender individuals to work freely and on their own terms.
This concert features music created by the members and performed by the Malva Quartet. One approach to counteracting hierarchical structures in the art music scene is to randomise individuals who submit work, thus also calling into question the term “quality” and creating opportunities for more people to be seen and heard!
