Resounding Academy – Eric Ericson 100 years

Conversations about Eric Ericson’s great achievements – naturally, his choir will present the music.

“His appetite for music was insatiable and his work stamina was unimaginable.” The Royal Swedish Academy of Music invites you to an evening in celebration of choral doyen Eric Ericson, who would have turned 100 years old this year.

Eric Ericson always sought out new challenges: new encounters across musical boundaries with the era’s leading jazz musicians, contact with young composers. He was always up to date with research on older music. Eric Ericson is one of few Swedish names in music who is clearly entitled to bear the epithet of “legendary”. He was active as a conductor in the major contexts for over 60 years, and his artistry will permeate generations of conductors and vocalists.

An accomplished and knowledgeable panel will delve into subjects connected to Ericson’s legacy, accompanied by his own chamber choir under the baton of Fredrik Malmberg.
