Philharmonic Day – Family concert with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra

The symphonic fairy tale of Peter and the Wolf, with Ayla Kabaca.

Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev’s symphonic fairy tale of Peter and the Wolf is a beloved Philharmonic Day tradition for many generations of kids and adults. The animals in the yard are Peter’s best friends, and one day they venture out into the ominous forest, where the wolf lurks... The folktale is told with humour and tension, and the main characters “live” in different instruments: the violins are Peter, the horn is the wolf, the clarinet is the cat, the concert flute is the bird, the oboe is the scatterbrained duck and the bassoon is Peter’s grandfather. Popular TV show host Ayla Kabaca leads us through the story.
