Philharmonic Day – Third concert with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra

High spirits and festive music by Alfvén, Wagner and Dvorák!

Alfvén’s Festspel has come to comprise the official celebratory music at various national events; for example, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra performed the piece most recently at King Carl XVI Gustaf’s 70th birthday in 2016.

Dvorák’s Carnival music is a rapid-paced, exhilarating tribute to life. In between, Wagner’s proud Ride of the Valkyries (The Valkyrie is the second opera from the tremendous The Ring of the Nibelung, and the eight valkyries have been collected here), which is a true orchestral masterpiece.

For anyone who wants to: sit with and experience a concert from “inside” the orchestra. Gathering on a first come, first served basis beginning at 15.15, stalls, right side. Space is limited. From 10 years.
