Don’t miss the opportunity to hear tomorrow’s classical music stars today. In a unique and forward-looking partnership between 21 of Europe’s leading concert halls, which belong to the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO), six young musicians and ensembles from various countries are selected each year and given the opportunity to tour all of the concert halls and perform before an international audience.
Trumpet player Simon Höfele from Germany – nominated by Konzerthaus Dortmund, Kölner Philharmonie and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg – has debuted with orchestras such as the BBC Philharmonic, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, and more.
He has also won several prestigious competitions, such as the Reinhold Friedrich International Trumpet Competition in Lisbon and the contest for young trumpet players in Alençon, France. With pianist Frank Dupree, he will perform music by Gershwin and Ravel, and a newly composed piece by the young Czech composer Miroslav Srnka.
