Sisters Claudia and Daniela Bonfiglioli are two well-known names from the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2013, Claudia has been section leader of the second violins and she has also appeared with the orchestra as a soloist, including in Amanda Maier-Röntgen’s rediscovered violin concerto. Daniela has played in the first violin section since 2011. The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra’s pianist Stefan Lindgren will also be participating in this concert.
Together, they will offer music by Russian violinist and composer Aleksey Igudesman. He has composed music for prominent violinists such as Julian Rachlin and Viktoria Mullova, and is also an actor and comedian. His version of the hit song I Will Survive has nearly 10 million views on YouTube! Here, we will get to hear some of his short pieces for two violins and piano.
Moritz Moszkowski is best known for his melodically warm and elegant piano music, but he has also drawn attention with his symphonic poem Jeanne d’Arc, several beautiful orchestral pieces and a shimmering violin concerto. Here, Daniela and Claudia Bonfiglioli, together with Stefan Lindgren, perform his intense and melodically warm suite for two violins and piano.
