Everything She Ever Touched

Operabyrån’s new production revolves around the grieving process.

Pain, rage, loss and solace, as well as joy and love. Powerful emotions of all kinds are part of losing a loved one. This is the world premiere of I allt hon någonsin rört vid (“In Everything She Ever Touched”). The hub of the performance is Andrea Tarrodi’s new song cycle, Lament for soprano and archlute, as well as the electronic piece Corale e Carillon.

Soprano Christina Larsson Malmberg wrote the lyrics herself around the time during and after the loss of her sister. The universal experience of losing someone is conveyed through contemporary dance, Baroque and newly composed music, and sung words.

Operabyrån has gathered some of the industry’s most luminous artists to reflect a wide spectrum of the mourning process. Director and dancer Satoshi Kudo has created choreography inspired by traditional Japanese shamanism. In addition to Tarrodi’s new songs, lute player Jonas Nordberg and soprano Christina Larsson Malmberg also perform songs by Purcell and other Baroque masters.

Operabyrån formed in 2010 and has collaborated with Konserthuset Stockholm since 2018.
