Lied Concert with Husáhr and Savinova

Music by Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky and Grieg.

Hanna Husáhr’s major breakthrough came in 2016 in the role of Pat Nixon in the Royal Swedish Opera’s staging of Nixon in China by John Adams. She has since become a mainstay of the Nordic region’s major opera stages, most recently in the leading role in Mats Larsson Gothe’s newly composed opera, Löftet (“The Promise”). Award-winner Husáhr is also a frequently performing concert singer, and performed with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra in Konserthuset’s 2020/21 season opening. Husáhr also took part in the SVT production of Christina Nilsson – The Magical Voice.

Estonian mezzosoprano Dara Savinova was previously part of the International Opera Studio at the Zürich Opera House and the Young Singers Project at the festival in Salzburg. She has received acclaim in recent years for her captivating stage presence and impressive coloratura. In 2019, she sang the role of Cinderella at the Royal Swedish Opera. This is her debut at Konserthuset.

Versatile pianist Magnus Svensson specialises in the art of lied, and he has served as artistic director of Lied Evenings for several seasons. In addition to concerts in the Nordic region and elsewhere in Europe, he has also performed in the US. Magnus Svensson obtained his soloist diploma from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, graduated with honours as top student, and then immersed himself in the study of lied interpretation in London.
