The open-air Gärdet concert
It's that time of the year, with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and brilliants guests. Bring your picnic!
The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra’s annual Gärdet concert by the Maritime Museum is an indispensable tradition for Stockholmers. It’s a chance to pack a picnic basket or buy food on-site and enjoy sublime classical music and perhpaps a sing-along on the green grass. The event is hosted by Stefan Forsberg, Executive and Aristic Director of Konserthuset Stockholm.
This year’s concert features the couple David Lindgren and Kristina Lindgren, both established singers on the Swedish music scene. David Lindgren experienced a breakthrough in the Swedish Melody Festival of 2012, and has since worked both as an artist and tv show host. Acclaimed singer Kristina Lindgren has been featured in many musicals all over the country. The couple has shared stage on previous occasions, for instance in the musical Saturday Night Fever, produced at Chinateatern in Stockholm.
