Bengan’s Stage for Two – From Here to South America
About the concert
På svenskaJazz and excursions with Ulf Wakenius.
When Bengan Janson and jazz guitarist Ulf Wakenius share the stage, we can expect musical interplay of the highest order. For many years, the world-renowned Swedish jazz guitarist Ulf Wakenius was a member of Oscar Peterson’s quartet. During his most recent visit to Konserthuset in 2022, he paid tribute to Peterson – a concert available to watch on Konserthuset Play.
“It’s like a dream to play with Ulf Wakenius – we’ve really been looking forward to this! We both have a love for South American music, and the programme will also include music from the Great American Songbook, Toots Thielemans and the Brazilian musician Sivuca,” says Bengan Janson.
Bengan Janson, both folk musician and accordion virtuoso, refuses to be confined to any one genre. His joy of playing and spirit of curiosity have led him to the worlds of jazz, folk music and chanson. Over the years, he has collaborated with virtually the entire Swedish music scene: “Meeting other musicians is what drives me.”
