Konserthuset 100 Years – Dalcroze Eurhythmics for All
About the event
På svenskaSwedish Dalcroze Eurhythmics celebrates 100 years at Konserthuset. Experience a workshop where past and present meet through music, movement and joy.
One of the very first tenants of Konserthuset was the eurhythmics and music educator Karin Fredga, who ran a music school for both children and adults where music and movement were central. Many were the children who, between 1926 and 1959, “danced” and learned about music with “Aunt Karin” and the other eurhythmics teachers who worked alongside her.
A considerable number of young adults also trained as eurhythmics teachers in the Aulin Hall at Konserthuset—an education that was later developed further, first through the Swedish Dalcroze Seminary and subsequently at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
As of 2026, Dalcroze Eurhythmics remains a vibrant pedagogical method, reaching children and adults in a wide range of contexts. Eurhythmics teachers are active, among other settings, in municipal arts schools, compulsory education and adult education.
